1. Why has NASA started giving contracts to private firms?
2. SpaceX says it can provide a service that is ten times as reliable and one-tenth of the cost of NASA’s usual service. Why would a private company be able to provide that kind of service when the government cannot?
3. How do new entrants to an industry or market spur on competition and innovation?
4. Do you think it is a good idea for NASA to outsource services to private companies? Explain.
5. Why do you think there are private space companies with more advanced technology than what NASA currently has?
